Peskov spoke about the contacts between Gazprom and Siemens on a gas turbine

MOSCOW, 12 Sep — PRIME. Gazprom maintains direct contact with the German Siemens on the issue of repairing equipment for the Nord Stream after malfunctions have been identified, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“At the same time, Siemens, as a company, is now burdened with the restrictions imposed by the sanctions,” he said.

At the same time, the Kremlin representative stressed that the German company is responsible for the maintenance of gas turbines under existing contracts.

Gazprom has stopped Nord Stream for an indefinite period after a three-day maintenance due to a malfunction of the only working turbine. Siemens said it “took note” of the reported malfunctions, but believes that Gazprom’s conclusion is not a technical reason for shutting down the gas pipeline.

Since June, fuel pumping through this line has been reduced due to difficulties in returning gas turbines from repair due to anti-Russian sanctions. First, supplies were reduced to 40% of the maximum capacity of the pipe, and then to 20%.
