Radeon RX 580 and RX 570 appear in the picture

Sometime this half year, AMD is expected to roll out its new graphics architecture Vega with the model Radeon RX Vega at the forefront. Before that, however, the company is expected to dust off the current Polaris architecture for a new round of cards, where the Radeon RX 580 and Radeon RX 570 are expected to enter the market in the spring.

In an image leak at Videocardz, two of the upcoming cards have posed in front of the camera, and not entirely unexpectedly, there are some similarities with the predecessors in the RX 400 series.

First out is the Radeon RX 570 which is supposed to replace the Radeon RX 470. The pictures reveal a card that is very similar to its predecessor, where the same circuit board has been reused with extra power supply via a single 6-pin PCI Express connector.

However, the accompanying leaked specifications suggest a higher memory frequency of 7,000 MHz, up from 6,600 MHz for the Radeon RX 470, and a slightly higher turbo frequency for the graphics processor.

For the big brother Radeon RX 580, the power supply has been screwed up compared to its predecessor, where the extra power now takes place with an 8-pin PCI Express connector – a decision in line with the Radeon RX 480 already traveling on the power limits of the PCI Express specification.

In terms of clock frequency, the specifications are still unknown, but previous data suggest a higher turbo frequency for the card’s graphics processor. The Radeon RX 580 and Radeon RX 570 have not yet been officially announced by AMD. Earlier data, however, point to a sharp launch later in April, or the beginning of May.
