Radeon RX 5950 XT appears in registers

A new year means new launches, and for AMD it means, among other things, fresh graphics cards in the Navi generation. The company unveiled the mid-range model Radeon RX 5600 XT during CES 2020, where the graphics cards will go on sale in less than a week.

However, more launches await, according to information unearthed by the Twitter profile Komachi Ensaka. The information comes from a registration with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) where the graphics cards Radeon RX 5950 XT, RX 5950, RX 5900 and RX 5800 XT are revealed.

More details than that are missing, and it is not clear if the new models build on the Navi 10 circuit that forms the basis of the RX 5700 series, or if one or more of the models introduces a new graphics circuit. At CES 2020, AMD’s CEO Lisa Su once again confirmed that high-performance Navi graphics cards are on the way, with the so-called “Big Navi” circuit.

The Radeon RX 5950 XT and RX 5950 could potentially house the “Big Navi”. Performance data for an unidentified Radeon graphics card from the Open VR test suite recently appeared on the web, with results surpassing the Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 Ti. The validity of the results is uncertain, but may indicate that AMD’s new models have reached the test phase.

The registration with the EAEU does not reveal when the new Radeon cards will reach the market. When the registration of Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 1650 appeared in the EAEU database in March 2019, it took a month for the product to be launched on the market, but it remains to be seen if a similar time frame applies to any of AMD’s upcoming Radeon models.
