Gigabyte shows water-cooled graphics dock with Geforce RTX 2080 Ti

Taiwanese component manufacturer Gigabyte continues to expand its product range at this year’s CES, where former focus areas such as graphics cards and motherboards are now flanked by monitors and graphics dolls. In the latter category, the company is now launching the first water-cooled variant on the market.

The Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Box is equipped, as the name suggests, with Nvidia’s graphics card Geforce RTX 2080 Ti, which with its 4,535 CUDA cores in 1,545 MHz offers good gaming performance. The clock frequency is thus based on Nvidia’s log frequencies, without extra performance from cardboard. The same applies to the card’s 11 GB GDDR6 memory, which ends up at 14,000 MHz.

To cool the significant heat that the card develops, a 240 mm radiator is used paired with two 120 mm fans, which make contact with the graphics card through a large copper plate. This not only covers the graphics circuit, but also cools voltage regulators and memory circuits. The solution means that the doll is kept compact with the dimensions 300 × 140 × 173 mm, paired with a weight of 3.8 kilograms.

The dock is connected to the computer via a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3, which can also charge the computer if needed. In terms of picture connections, there are three Displayport and one HDMI connection. Otherwise, there are three USB 3.0 Type-A and one Ethernet port. A small fan can also be seen at the back, which cools the power supply which with its 450 W supplies the doll with power via the wall socket.

Finally, the lower front edge of the aluminum-clad doll is adorned with an RGB strip that can be controlled via the RGB Fusion software. The launch of the Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Box takes place immediately, and the doll is available on Swedish store shelves at a price of SEK 18,495.
