Radeon RX 6800M appears online: the new mobile GPU is close to debut:New high-end AMD video cards specifically developed for notebook systems on the horizon? This seems to be the indication in the light of the little information that appeared in a Twitter post published by Komachi, in which a tab is indicated Radeon RX 6800M. It was AMD itself that indicated that it was working on new Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs for notebook systems for gamers.

Such a GPU would be based on Navi 22 chips, assuming for this version a number of stream processors equal to 2560, with different versions calibrated in light of the maximum consumption. The variants of this GPU should be 4, with TGP (Total Graphics Power) equal to 145W, 135W, 100W or 90W.

The choice of a specific version is obviously linked to the size of the notebook in which this card will be inserted and the combined cooling system. The Radeon RX 6800M card should be the one paired with the highest TGP of 145 Watts, combined with a quantity of memory that could be 12GB: the direct consequence would be that of a combined 192bit bus, a feature that could also allow AMD to equip this GPU with 24GB of video memory.

AMD is expected to make other cards available for notebook systems as well, with the Navi 23 and Navi 24 GPUs as candidates. For these models AMD could adopt the commercial names of Radeon RX 6600M and Radeon RX 6500M, up to other cards that will position themselves in the entry level segment of the market as direct competitors of the NVIDIA GeForce MX cards.

All this, of course, with the hope that new GPUs for notebooks are available in adequate volumes since the official launch on the market and do not face the serious problems of availability recorded with the new Radeon RX 6000 video cards, parallel to those of competing cards NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000. When is the debut? It is plausible that it could happen in conjunction with Computex 2021 in Taipei at the end of May.
