Review and testing of the AMD Radeon R7 M445 video card
: Test | Specs | CPU | Config

In this short review, we will look at another graphics card for AMD Radeon R7 M445 laptops, which apparently replaced the previous generation Radeon R7 M370 graphics card. The AMD Radeon R7 M445 graphics card is essentially a rebranding of the previous generation of graphics adapters. And since mobile video cards of the NVIDIA Maxwell series (not to mention the future NVIDIA Pascal) look very confident in terms of performance / energy efficiency, then the AMD Radeon R7 M445 video card will face strong competition. Of course, AMD can set a more attractive price tag on its products, but will the production of these models be profitable then?

The graphics processor of the AMD Radeon R7 M445 video card, codenamed Topaz, is based on 28 N. m architecture, the crystal area is only 77 mm². GPU R7 M445, has 384 shaders, 24 texture units and 8 ROP units. AMD has placed 4096 MB of GDDR5 memory on the video card, which operate at a frequency of 1000 MHz (4000 MHz) on a 64-bit bus. The GPU itself runs at up to 920 MHz.

You should not expect high gaming performance from the AMD Radeon R7 M445. For a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and high graphics settings, this video card is not suitable. For a comfortable game you will have to lower the display resolution to 1366×768 pixels and the gaming settings to the average level, and in some gaming applications to the low level. For example, you can freely play at medium graphics quality settings in games such as GTA V, Battlefield 4 and Rainbow Six Siege will have FPS levels above 30, and high-tech games like The Witcher 3 will have to lower their graphics settings to low levels.

Testing

The performance of a video card is determined by the number of fps (frames per second) that it can produce in a particular application under certain settings. The performance of the video card in gaming applications is affected by the software installed on the PC, the version of the video driver, and the configuration of the computer.
