MOSCOW, 6 Sep — PRIME. In the new heating season, German residents may find themselves in a situation of complete lack of heating in their homes, RND warns.
Even with successful (above 95%) filling of underground gas storage facilities in Germany until November by November, the country’s authorities will not be able to solve the upcoming problems of the heating season for their population.
“The heating season may be disrupted, based on the fact that it is necessary to actively withdraw gas from storage facilities today. The reserves have become smaller, since they have begun to take more from UGS facilities,” the article says.
As it became known to journalists, in the absence of reliable suppliers of “blue fuel”, the stock of this raw material in Germany will be enough for only two months of the heating period. Because of this, households in the country may face a lack of heating in their homes by the middle of winter.
In addition, the question of how much more raw materials Germany will have to buy in the future looms: if prices per thousand cubic meters of gas remain at the level of two or three thousand dollars all the time, then Berlin will need to allocate tens of billions of euros just so that the population of the country does not frozen to death.
As the head of the Ministry of Economics and Vice-Chancellor of Germany Robert Habeck said the day before, the government intends to supply energy to the territory of its country with gas supplies from neighboring countries, as well as through floating terminals for receiving LNG. The politician emphasized that Germany “should and will cope” with energy supply problems without supplies from Russia.
