Rosatom and Roskosmos plan to cooperate with Ethiopia

MOSCOW, 3 Sep — PRIME. Russian-Ethiopian projects in the field of space and the use of peaceful atomic energy are developing according to plan, at the intergovernmental commission scheduled for October, the parties will discuss them and military-technical cooperation, Ethiopian Ambassador to Moscow Alemayehu Tegenu told RIA Novosti.

“Yes, all these projects (with Rosatom, Roskosmos – ed.) are developing according to plan. An intergovernmental commission will be held in October, where we will discuss all current projects,” the ambassador said.

“Yes, it will,” he answered the question of whether military-technical cooperation between the two countries would be discussed during the intergovernmental commission.

Earlier, the ambassador said that Russia and Ethiopia signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of building up cooperation on peaceful atom, which involves the training of specialized specialists and the construction of a nuclear power plant. He also mentioned that Ethiopia is preparing to sign a memorandum of cooperation with Roskosmos. Ethiopia is also one of the countries that Roskosmos is considering as a place to create a station for tracking space objects.
