Slovenia called for the introduction of a “ceiling” of prices not only for Russian gas

MOSCOW, September 9 — PRIME. The Slovenian government called for the EU to work out an agreement to limit prices for all imported gas, and not just from Russia, said Minister of Infrastructure Bojan Kumer.

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has previously stated the need to introduce a price ceiling for Russian gas. At the end of August, she also announced that the EC is working on operational and longer-term measures to “improve the situation” in the face of rising electricity prices in the EU, which mainly depend on the cost of “blue fuel”.

“We support the price ceiling that we should set for gas from Russia. But this is not enough, we must expand these measures. We also think that it is necessary to reach an agreement on how to restructure energy markets, especially in long-term deals,” Kumer said. before the meeting of the EU Energy Ministers in Brussels.

According to him, the EU countries should work out an agreement on imposing a price limit on all “blue fuel” supplied to the region. Kumer expressed the hope that such a document will appear in the coming days.
