The authorities of Zaporozhye announced an increase in the intensity of shelling of the ZNPP

MOSCOW, 29 Aug – PRIME. The intensity of shelling of ZNPP and Energodar over the past week has increased by 70%, said Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region.

“The intensity of shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and Energodar by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine increased by 70%,” he noted in his Telegram channel.

Rogov stressed that from August 15 to 21, 23 shellings were carried out, and from August 22 to 28, already 38.

Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper near Energodar. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity. Since March, it has been guarded by the Russian military to prevent leaks of nuclear and radioactive materials. The Ukrainian military continues to regularly shell Energodar, the surrounding villages and the territory of the ZNPP adjacent to the city.
