The largest Broadway ticket operator will introduce a blockchain to combat counterfeiting

The Shubert Organization, the largest Broadway ticket operator, is gearing up to test the blockchain system designed to deal with fake tickets.

To do this, the company uses the solution of the Boston startup True Tickets based on the IBM blockchain, which will be integrated into the Shubert ticket sales system, including the Telecharge.com website and the Broadway Inbound group discount service.

As True Tickets CEO Matt Zarracina emphasized, working with Shubert enables the company to use its solution to help customers. System testing should begin next year.

Broadway is often confronted with ticket counterfeiting, resale and speculation. Thanks to the blockchain, Shubert hopes to regain transparency in ticket purchases for companies and consumers.

Recall that recently the American basketball club Sacramento Kings announced plans to issue its own cryptocurrency token, which can also be used to buy tickets for the team’s matches.
