CHISINAU, Sep 13 – PRIME. Inflation in Romania in August accelerated to 15.32% from 14.96% in July, while the price of gas rose the most, Agerpres reported, citing data from the National Institute of Statistics.
According to the information, food prices rose last month by 18.22%, non-food products rose in price by 15.98%, and services – by 8.26%.
Among non-food products, gas increased the most in price – by 70.64%. Gasoline and diesel fuel are in second place, having risen in price by an average of 31.48%, heat energy has become more expensive by 22.98%.
In the service sector, the most expensive were air travel – 33.91%, water, sewerage – 21% and rail transport – 20.92%.
In the food market, the most expensive prices went up for potatoes – by 54.34%, vegetable oil – by 49.68%, flour – by 34.28%.
