MOSCOW, Sep 1 — PRIME. Kyiv on Wednesday launched three kamikaze drones at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, Russian electronic warfare systems neutralized them, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

“Yesterday, August 31, the armed forces of Ukraine attacked the territory of the nuclear power plant with three kamikaze drones. All unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralized by Russian electronic warfare systems on approach to the station. Two of them fell on the roof of the training center,” noted department.

According to the Ministry of Defense, there were no casualties or damage.

Earlier on Wednesday, Energodar authorities reported shelling the city ahead of the arrival of the IAEA mission at the ZNPP. Later, the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal wrote that the visit of the IAEA delegation to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was complicated due to the attempted offensive of Ukrainian troops in the south.

On Thursday, the head of the Energodar administration, Alexander Volga, said that a Ukrainian landing had taken place in the area of ​​the city, and a fire defeat was inflicted.
