The Ministry of Economy of Germany launched a campaign calling for saving energy

BERLIN, 13 Oct – PRIME. On the eve of winter, the Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection of Germany launched an energy saving campaign, as part of which they distribute a social video “winter is coming”, where Germans of different generations ask their fellow citizens to reduce the consumption of warm water and heating in order to survive the winter well.

Germany urged to divide the country into zones due to rising electricity prices

“Energy is scarce and expensive. Savings can help where possible. We can all contribute to this,” say the participants in the one-minute video, who, according to the German Energy Ministry, are ordinary residents of Germany, not professional actors.

In the video, representatives of different generations urge to be economical with resources in everyday life: save warm water, use seals on doors, reduce heating. “Let’s unite to get through the winter well,” the participants in the video address the audience.

As noted by the Ministry of Economy of Germany, the department will intensify its information campaign at the beginning of the current heating season against the backdrop of a “serious energy crisis.” According to the ministry, “because of the deficit, artificially created by Russia, much less natural gas is supplied to the German and European markets.” In this regard, according to the department, “gas is a scarce and expensive commodity,” and “it is important to handle it carefully.”

“All sectors are encouraged to do this: business, the public sector and private households. Many are already doing it and saving. Companies, municipalities and most people are ready to act. It is worth a lot. Our campaign is designed to encourage, inform and motivate. Every contribution counts in order to we could survive the winter well together,” Minister Robert Habek said in a statement from the German Ministry of Economy.

It is specified that the campaign provides practical advice, shows how others do it, while the information is adapted to the specific needs of the target group. The initiative also produced a series of videos that show how everyone can save energy at home.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy for the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak said earlier that Russia has never used energy resources as a weapon, for many decades the Russian Federation has been their reliable supplier to world markets.
