The Ministry of Energy is waiting for the launch of exchange trading in coal before the end of the year
MOSCOW, 13 Oct – PRIME. The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation expects that the order to start exchange trading in coal will come into force before the end of this year, now it is being registered with the Ministry of Justice, said Petr Bobylev, head of the coal industry department of the Energy Ministry.
The Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation at the end of April published a joint order providing for coal companies that occupy a dominant position in the market to sell at least 10% of coal on the exchange. It also follows from the document that the requirement to sell coal on the exchange with a minimum share of at least 10% will apply to grades D (long-flame) and DG (long-flame-gas).
“How soon are we waiting for the order? The sooner, the better. Today the document is 100% ready … Now it is in the Ministry of Justice. We hope that this is a very foreseeable future, certainly before the end of the year,” Bobylev said at a business breakfast of SPIMEX in within the framework of the Russian Energy Week.
“Regarding the full-scale trading of coal on the stock exchange, my opinion is that it will definitely happen,” he stressed.
Russian Energy Week takes place in Moscow on October 12-14. RIA Novosti acts as an information partner of the forum.
