MOSCOW, 10 Oct — PRIME. The number of active oil and gas drilling rigs in the United States fell for the first time in the last 4 weeks, despite the rise in oil prices to five-week highs amid the decision of OPEC + to cut production. This was reported by Reuters on Friday, citing oilfield services company Baker Hughes.
The energy crisis is leading to a split between the US and the EU, say Chinese experts
The number of active oil and gas rigs, a production leading indicator, fell 3 units to 762 units in the week of October 1-7, according to Baker Hughes, the lowest since early September.
The number of oil drilling rigs in the reporting week decreased by 2 units, to 602 units. The number of gas drilling rigs decreased by 1 unit to 158 units.
In the third quarter, the number of oil and gas drilling rigs increased for the 8th quarter in a row, an increase of 12 units. However, this is the smallest quarterly increase since September 2020.
