In Moldova, they announced the risk of stopping the supply of fuel by Gazprom

Last October, when Chisinau signed a new agreement with Gazprom, an obligatory condition was an audit of the Moldovagaz enterprise. Only in August, the Moldovan government concluded an audit agreement with the Norwegian company Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma and the British Forensic Risk Alliance & Co.

Last week, after telephone conversations with the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu said that the government would not have time to complete the audit of the debt of the gas distribution company Moldovagaz to Gazprom by October 1, he asked the Russian side for a delay.

“We (with Miller) discussed two aspects that are important for Gazprom: timely payment for gas is what we do, and the second element is a debt audit. On our part, we extended the audit period until January 31. Yes, it dragged on , but for objective reasons. From discussions with Miller, I did not understand whether they (Gazprom) will cut Moldova off from gas after October 1,” Spinu said on the air of the Moldova-1 TV channel.

Earlier, the official representative of “Gazprom” Sergei Kupriyanov said that the debt of the enterprise “Moldovagaz” is 433 million dollars, and taking into account the delay in payments, the total amount of debt reaches 709 million dollars.

The company “Moldovagaz” was established in 1999. Its largest shareholder is Gazprom, which controls 50% of the shares, another 35.3% belongs to the government of Moldova, and 13.44% belongs to Transnistria. The unrecognized republic transferred its shares to Gazprom for management.
