Over the past year, both Nvidia and AMD have rolled out a number of new graphics cards in the upper price and performance classes, but the Nvidia and Geforce GTX 1600 series have been ravaged relatively undisturbed in the middle and entry-level segments. In the near future, however, AMD will counter with the recently unveiled Radeon RX 5500, which gets up to 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and a graphics circuit made of 7 nanometers.
Rumors, leaked images and product registrations suggest that Nvidia also has more aces up its sleeve, in the form of the graphics cards Geforce GTX 1660 Super and GTX 1650 Super. Videocardz now presents what are said to be the complete specifications for both models, along with information on launch and price.

It has been said in advance that the news for the Geforce GTX 1660 Super will be graphics memory of the GDDR6 type, which is currently found in the GTX 1660 Ti and faster cards. The listed specifications are completely in line with this and the hardware is otherwise identical to the GTX 1660, with 1,408 CUDA cores and a turbo frequency of 1,785 MHz.
The memory bus remains at 192 GB and the amount at 6 GB, but it is worth mentioning that it is about really increased memory frequencies – higher than for the Geforce GTX 1660 Ti. Specifically, it is about 14,000 MHz, which gives a memory bandwidth of 336 GB / s. With this comes the marginally higher TDP value of 125 watts.
Geforce GTX 1650 Super becomes a competent middle class
When it comes to the Super version of the Geforce GTX 1650, all the bigger changes await. The model takes the step up to the TU116 circuit in a version that has been scaled down slightly from the GTX 1660 and its Super siblings. This means an increase from 896 to 1,280 CUDA cores, which corresponds to 384 cores or about 43 percent.
In addition, Nvidia is increasing both base and turbo frequencies for the model, which land at 1,530 and 1,725 MHz respectively. The same applies to the 4 GB large graphics memory, which is now being replaced by GDDR6 with a frequency of 12,000 MHz. What remains, however, is the memory bus of 128 bits, which results in the memory bandwidth 192 GB / s.
With a more competent graphics circuit under the hood, 34 extra texture units are added for a total of 80 units, just behind the 88 seen on the Geforce GTX 1660. The TU116 circuit also means that the upcoming model will have the Turing architecture’s video encoder. GTX 1650 and TU117 use the video encoder from the Volta architecture instead, which is about 15 percent slower.
With the greatly increased specifications, the Geforce GTX 1650 Super TDP exceeds 75 watts, a level that can be met over the PCI Express connection. Instead, the TDP value is listed as 100 watts and thus a 6-pin PCI Express connector will become mandatory for all cards.
The recommended price level for the Geforce GTX 1660 Super is $ 229, which is $ 10 higher than the GTX 1660 and it is not impossible that the upcoming model will completely replace the older one. For the Super variant of the GTX 1650, there is no known target price at the time of writing, but a bit over 149 USD is reasonable.
When Nvidia released the Geforce RTX 2060 Super this summer, the card was gifted with significantly higher specifications and a higher price tag. The Super model coexists with the sibling and it is possible that this will also be the case for the GTX 1650 with and without Super suffix. According to Videocardz, the latter model will be launched on November 22, while the GTX 1660 Super will be launched on October 29.
