The Permanent Representative to the European Union spoke about the record profits of Gazprom

MOSCOW, September 5 – PRIME. “Gazprom” at the end of the year may announce a record profit, said in an interview with “Izvestia” Russia’s permanent representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov, commenting on the shutdown of the “Nord Stream”.

As the permanent representative noted, various European countries have their own ideas about how to get out of this situation: one country uses alternative sources, another has its own gas, and some countries practically do not use gas. To the greatest extent, in his opinion, those who are more active than others in promoting an anti-Russian position depend on Russian energy resources. The European Union is not ready to abandon Russian gas immediately, however, according to the diplomat, the course towards reducing dependence on Russia will continue.

“As for the volume of our deliveries, yes, they have, of course, decreased. There are a number of factors: there is no turbine for Nord Stream 1, someone does not want to pay in rubles. But since this reduction in volume is accompanied by a sharp rise in prices, then I won’t be surprised if Gazprom announces record profits at the end of the year,” Chizhov concluded.
