The President of Indonesia spoke about the purchase of Russian oil
MOSCOW, 12 Sep — PRIME. Indonesian President Joko Widodo said that Indonesia is considering buying Russian oil amid rising energy prices.

“We are always monitoring all options. If there is a country and it gives the best price, of course,” Widodo said in an interview with the Financial Times, answering a question about whether Indonesia will buy Russian oil.
According to Widodo, the government “is obliged to find various sources to meet the energy needs” of the country. “We want to find a solution,” the Indonesian president said.
As the newspaper notes, Indonesia has not imported significant volumes of oil from Russia for many years. At the same time, the purchase of Russian oil at a price above the limit set by the G7 countries could make the country vulnerable to US sanctions, the publication noted.
