MOSCOW, September 9 — PRIME. Retail gasoline in Russia rose in price by 0.3% in August compared to July – the price increase was recorded for the first time since February, while diesel fuel rose in price by 0.4%, according to Rosstat materials.
Deflation in Russia accelerated to 0.52% in August
“Prices for gas motor fuel rose by 1.2%, diesel fuel – by 0.4%, motor gasoline – by 0.3%,” Rosstat said.
Retail gasoline prices have been falling since March. In July, the cost of gasoline fell symbolically – by 0.05% compared to June. Diesel fuel increased in price for the second month of summer by 0.1%.
Exchange average monthly prices in August against July also rose. The AI-92, AI-95 grades and diesel fuel at the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (SPIMEX) went up by about 8%.
Fuel in Russia rose in retail prices throughout 2021, following its results, the price of gasoline increased by 8.84%, exceeding the inflation rate, Rosstat reported. According to the agency, gasoline prices in the first two months of 2022 grew weekly at a low pace, and in March they began to decline.
