Transit of Russian gas through Ukraine is expected to remain at previous levels
MOSCOW, 3 Sep — PRIME. Deliveries of Russian gas through Ukraine on Saturday are expected to remain at the same level, according to data from the GTS Operator of Ukraine.
Thus, applications for pumping through the Suzhda gas measuring station on September 3 amount to 42.4 million cubic meters. The indicator has been at this level since the end of May. Pumping through the GIS “Sohranovka” is still not carried out.
At the same time, transportation of fuel to Europe via Nord Stream has been suspended indefinitely after a three-day maintenance due to the need to repair a single gas turbine. Siemens Energy, which maintains the equipment, said the company does not consider Gazprom’s conclusion to be a technical reason for suspending supplies.
Recall that deliveries through this pipe began to decline in June due to problems with the return of equipment from repairs in connection with anti-Russian sanctions. First, pumping dropped to 40% of maximum power, and then to 20%.
Despite this, Europe has reached the target gas storage capacity of 80%. European consumers are afraid of a new jump in fuel prices in winter and are stocking up for the cold.
