Uniper and Woodside agree on LNG supplies to Europe from 2023

MOSCOW, September 5 – PRIME. German energy concern Uniper and Australian Woodside Energy have signed an agreement to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe from 2023, according to a Uniper press release.

“Woodside Energy Trading Singapore Pte Ltd (Woodside) has entered into an agreement with Uniper Global Commodities SE (Uniper) under which Woodside will supply LNG from its global portfolio to Europe, including Germany, for a period up to 2039, starting in January 2023”, – the message says.

The company specifies that the volume of LNG is up to twelve cargoes per year (equivalent to more than 0.8 million tons per year or one billion cubic meters of natural gas).

The company explains that deliveries from September 2031 will be subject to Uniper completing the booking of its long-term strategic capacity in Northwest Europe, which is expected by March 2023.
