Windows 10 preview will improve taskbar navigation list and touch keyboard

The new Windows 10 Preview Build 21301, which appears to be part of Windows 10 Fall 2021 Update, is now rolling out with improvements to the Jump List menu on the taskbar, trackpad settings, and the integrated touch keyboard.

For those who are not in the know, let me remind you that the Jump List menu is displayed on the taskbar when you right-click a program running on the desktop. The Jump List or Taskbar Content Menu gives you access to recently opened files in File Explorer, browser tabs, recent documents, and more. Microsoft is currently working on a new feature that will allow you to find the location of a file directly from the Jump List. For example, you can now right-click in Microsoft Word to access a new option called Open File Location, which allows you to find the location of recently opened documents. This new option is introduced for added convenience, and Microsoft is also looking into performance improvements for the Jump List.

There is a bug in Windows 10 that causes the user to wait a little while the Jump List options appear on the taskbar. The company is still investigating user reports on this issue, and more details will be posted shortly.

Additionally, Microsoft is working on a new touch keyboard design with a new feedback icon, password, and a new capture area at the top of the touch keyboard for faster typing, especially when switching to a smaller keyboard layout. In addition to the new design, Microsoft has also updated its internal dictionaries to improve Windows 10’s built-in spell checker and text prediction. There is another feature that aims to reduce clutter by displaying only five text suggestions above the keyboard.

Last but not least, Microsoft is also testing a new touchpad customization that will no longer have administrator rights. This will allow you to quickly enable or disable the touchpad without administrator rights.
