With nearly $ 10 billion in revenue in a year, AMD breaks its all-time record

AMD has published quarterly reportwhile summing up the results of the whole last year. She managed to surpass analysts’ expectations, but the stock market reacted with restraint to the publication of financial statements, since all expectations had already been included in the current quotes. Quarterly revenues reached a record $ 3.24 billion, up 16% sequentially and 53% year over year. Annual revenues renewed their all-time high, increasing by 45% to $ 9.76 billion. The profit margin reached 45% both in the quarter and in the year

In the compute and graphics segment, AMD’s revenue grew 18% to $ 1.96 billion, both YoY and sequential. The locomotive of the indicator has traditionally been the sale of Ryzen processors. The expansion of mobile versions affected the average selling price – it decreased in annual comparison. But in sequential terms, the average selling price of processors has increased due to the popularity of desktop models. The average realized price of Radeon graphics solutions has increased both sequentially and year-on-year.

Operating profit in the client area was increased to $ 420 million, mainly due to higher sales of Ryzen processors. In the desktop segment, as noted, the revenue from the sale of processors grew both sequentially and year-on-year. The number of Ryzen mobile processors shipped rose to an all-time high. Consistent growth in GPU sales has been driven by the continued expansion of the Radeon RX 6000 family and RDNA 2 architecture.

The release of new game consoles has expectedly increased the profile part of AMD’s revenue.

AMD’s server and custom products surged to $ 243 million in operating profit. The company promises to unveil its Milan-generation EPYC Zen 3 server processors in March this year. Demand for console components in the first half of the year will be higher than typical for this time of year.
