Zaporizhzhia region to decide on the further mode of operation of the nuclear power plant

SIMFEROPOL, 8 Sep — PRIME. On Thursday, a special commission will make a decision on the further operation of the Zaporizhzhya NPP (ZNPP), head of the administration of Energodar Alexander Volga said on Rossiya24.

“Today, a commission will meet on the further operation of the nuclear power plant and make a decision on the further mode of operation of the station after the repair of power lines,” Volga said.

Volga also noted that the work of the fifth power unit at the Zaporizhzhya NPP was suspended, and the sixth was not operating at full capacity.

“The generated power cannot be released into the general system (due to damage to power lines). It was decided to suspend the operation of the fifth power unit, and at the moment the sixth power unit is operating in partial mode,” he explained

Earlier, the head of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, did not rule out a complete stoppage of the work of the Zaporozhye NPP during constant shelling by the armed forces of Ukraine.
