Zotac Geforce RTX 2060 in shrink format can be found on the web

Nvidia’s graphics architecture Pascal has been around for over two years and was not replaced until last autumn by the new Turing. The new architecture comes with dedicated hardware for both machine learning and beam tracking, which with the retained process node for manufacturing has meant that the circuits are large and expensive to manufacture.

There is still no Turing model under the Geforce RTX 2070, which costs around SEK 6,000. Thus, Pascal applies to the middle segment and down, but persistent data claims that Turing at more affordable price levels may soon appear, and now pictures of Zotac’s Geforce RTX 2060 can be found on the web.

The models in question are the Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 2060 Amp and the Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 2060 Twin Fan, where the models are identical in appearance. Both come with a gray cover and are equipped with two axial fans that blow down on the graphics card’s heat sink. It is worth mentioning that a single 8-pin connector is responsible for the power and that the circuit board has been shortened so that the models fit in neat systems.

The graphics circuit as such is still shrouded in obscurity, but data suggest that it may be a slimmed-down variant of the TU106, which is the same circuit as in the big brother Geforce RTX 2070. However, the number of CUDA cores is expected to be scaled down from 2,304 to a total of 1 920, which means that 6 of 36 SM clusters are closed.

In addition, dedicated hardware for machine learning and beam tracking is expected to be on the menu in the form of 240 Tensor cores and 30 RT cores. When it comes to memory configuration, it becomes all the more complex, as the manufacturer Gigabyte recently registered the RTX 2060 with six separate memory configurations.

The list includes both GDDR5 and GDDR6 memory, while listing sizes 6, 4 and 3 GB. The result is expected in January when the Geforce RTX 2060 will probably be shown. In terms of price, the graphics card is said to replace the Geforce GTX 1070, which would mean somewhere between 349 and 399 USD.
