5 features to better use the Health app on iPhone

Stability in walking

As part of its iOS 15 update in Fall 2021, Apple released Walking Steadiness, a new feature that monitors the way you walk. Like the feature in the previous section, you can access Walking Asymmetry in the Mobility section of your app. To do so:

  1. Tap the Browse button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Fare click on Mobility.
  3. Scroll down to Walking Asymmetry.

This subsection shows the averages for the day, week, month, semester and year. Navigate between them by tapping the gray banner at the top of the screen. If you have a low percentage of walking asymmetry, it means that your walking is healthier. On the other hand, it is worth seeing a doctor if the number on the screen is high.

Trends for health

Since every day is different, it is important to monitor your health progress over a long period. Fortunately, you can do this with the Trends feature. In this section of your iPhone’s Health app, you can find your average daily steps, flights of stairs climbed, and distances covered by walking and running. To access Trend:

  1. Tap the Summary tab at the bottom of the Health app.
  2. Scroll down to Trends and click View Health Trends.
  3. Tap each section you want to view. Like your average walking asymmetry, you can look at how you did based on the day, week, month, and so on.

Sharing

It is often a good idea to let others know how you are doing from a health perspective. And in some cases, you may want to compare your results with your friends and family. With the Health app, you can share your activities in another iPhone user’s app. You can do this via Health Sharing.

After configuring the feature, the other user will see a summary of your stats. Furthermore, you can also allow them to receive notifications. To set up health sharing.

  1. Select the Sharing tab at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Fare click Share with someone.
  3. Enter the name of the person you want to share your information with.
  4. On the next page, choose whether you want to share a selection of suggested topics or select them manually.
  5. Fare click Next after everything is set up. You will need to go through three steps, each of which allows you to choose different features of the app.
  6. Once you’ve set everything up in each subsection, hit Share.

Once you’ve set your sleep goal, you can choose the days you want this schedule to work. If you scroll down, you can choose to set an alarm. Once you’ve customized them, hit Add.
