Answer calls automatically without swiping proximity sensor APPS

Currently, mobile devices require you to slide your finger across the screen to answer calls. However, this commonly requires using both hands, especially if it is a large cell phone, as most are today.

If this is inconvenient for you, you have two options. The first is that you activate the Answer option by TAPPING on the screen, which replaces the action of SWIPE, a feature that brands such as the Samsung Galaxy offer. The second alternative is answer calls automatically by putting the phone to your ear. Some phones, such as LG G4 This function comes from the factory, but it can also be implemented on other devices with the help of the Tasker application.

Answer calls without swiping

Some devices incorporate an option to answer calls with one touch, without having to slide the screen. This option is usually the Android system settings, menu Accessibility.

For example, on my Samsung Galaxy S7 it is called “One Touch Mode”. In the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 it is in “Service menu”, “Reply without swiping” or something similar.

Answer by putting the phone to your ear

In this case, perhaps the safest alternative is to use Bags. There is a fast video tutorial on how to create this possibility in Tasker.

The logic is based on the use of the device’s proximity sensor, which is activated when it detects proximity to a surface, in this case by bringing the phone to the ear. Therefore, it is all about creating a profile that contains the Proximity Sensor + Incoming call conditions. When both are met, the Accept Call task will run.

This worked perfectly on an old Samsung Galaxy S3 mini with Android 4.1.2, as well as my current Galaxy S7 with Android 8. However, I couldn’t get it to work on a Moto G with Android 6, nor with the same Galaxy S7 with Android 7 Tasker’s “Accept Call” task was blocked. Maybe root access will unlock that task on those versions of Android.

Simple apps like Proximity Talk allowed to do this easily, avoiding having to do that aforementioned Tasker profile. However, although it worked on my S3 Mini, it did not work on my Motorola Moto G with Android 6 or Samsung with Android 7. Perhaps this is due to a permissions issue in these systems, which blocks the ability of applications to respond calls automatically or on your own. Fortunately on Android 8, at least Tasker does work properly for this purpose.
