• A starter house will have one or two rooms, and possibly some cultivated land to grow food, but survival houses / bases tend to have more elaborate farms so that more food can be grown. They also have more rooms with rooms dedicated to different things, for example, a crafting room, a storage room, a casting room, an enchantment room, and more.
• Aesthetically, a starter house is rarely something to look at. Users will use wood slabs and planks to make it look better, but wood burns and is not the best block to use in a home. Survival houses will be more robust with the exterior often built with blast resistant blocks or measures put into the design to prevent creepers from getting close.
• Few players end up creating the lower portal near their starting home. They are almost always created close to and sometimes within the survival base.

The game does not impose the above differences. Players can use a starting house as a survival base if they wish. The differences listed above arise because a player’s needs change the more he plays. They soon realize that there are better places to build a base and have an idea of ​​how they want to use the space, as well as the defenses they need to put in place to keep it safe.
