Asus confirms Geforce RTX 3080 Ti with 20 GB memory

The rumors about the upcoming graphics card Geforce RTX 3080 Ti have been both eloquent and contradictory. Some skepticism has arisen regarding the need for a model that bridges the gap between RTX 3080 and 3090, where the difference in performance is far from miles wide. The performance gap aside, voices have been raised for a graphics card model based on “Ampere” with more GDDR6X memory than 10 GB without resorting to RTX 3090 prices.

Now none other than the Taiwanese component manufacturer Asus confirms that the Geforce RTX 3080 Ti is up and running, and that the model is equipped with 20 GB of memory. Videocardz has in fact intercepted that the company listed two ROG Strix models built around the circuit on its support portal, where the only thing that separates the cards is factory overclocking.

The exact specification of the graphics circuit is unknown at this time. Videocardz expects a full-featured RTX 3090 circuit paired with 4 GB less GDDR6X memory, while early rumors gossiped about a specification that places the circuit between just RTX 3090 and little brother 3080. The latest offer on the launch front also claims that the card will be launched in connection with the Chinese New Year 2021, in mid-February.

If the specifications turn out to be correct, the Geforce RTX 3080 Ti will not be a cheap story – probably closer to the RTX 3090 than the 3080 in price. The manufacturer of the circuit is also written in the stars, as Nvidia has been rumored to place part of the “Ampere” production at TSMC after the turn of the year.
