Asus shows the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Poseidon with hybrid cooler

Asus has during its time created a couple of unique graphics cards where the performance stands out over the rest from the same generation. These include the Geforce GTX 295 MARCH and the sequel ROG Mars II, where both have visited SweClocker’s test lab. The company is adding one to the bill with the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Poseidon, which comes with a combined water and air cooler.

At first glance, the radiator looks like a regular one from the ROG series, with two fans to cool the flanges underneath. These are in turn connected to a water block that cools both the graphics part and the VRM. The current phases have also been given traditional heat conduction pipes to keep temperatures down.

In addition to extra cooling options, there is also RGB lighting on the cover plate that illuminates the ROG logo. On the side of the card there is an RGB panel, again with the ROG logo, which when active creates an eternity mirror (eng. Infinity Mirror). The card is also equipped with Fanconnect 2, which enables control of chassis fans depending on temperature.

The Asus Geforce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Poseidon is not yet ready for consumers as things like clock frequencies are not fully nailed down today. The same also applies to price and availability, but the company aims to get the card on sale by the end of the second quarter.
