Bitcoin Era scam has been active since the beginning of this year

A new crypto scam has become widespread on YouTube and other social media platforms, which use the names of Elon Musk and Daniel Craig. Business Insider reported a scam called “Bitcoin Era”, which claims to be a trading bot that offers extremely high returns. The scam attracts potential victims by using the names of Tesla founder Elon Musk and Hollywood actor Daniel Craig.

The video posted on Youtube presents an article from “Blitz News”, entitled “Bond franchise ends.” The makers announced earlier this month that the latest James Bond movie. “No Time to Die” will be released late against the background of the coronavirus outbreak. The video uses this news to attract audiences, but then focuses on cryptocurrencies.

The post that circulates on social media is titled

“SPECIAL REPORT: The British follow the advice of 007 Daniel Craig and make millions at home.”

The scam promises that by using the “Bitcoin Era” trading bot, people can become millionaires within four months.

Other names mentioned in the scam are Elon Musk, Richard Branson and Bill Gates. The fake article mentions:

“These technological geniuses have built multi-billion dollar companies to solve complex problems such as online payments, calculations and transportation. Now, they are addressing the global problem of wealth inequality, leaving anyone – no matter how rich or poor – to earn enough money to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life. ”

After the article appeared in Business Insider, the YouTube clip was removed.

Bitcoin scam It was promoted in style

However, the “Bitcoin Era” scam has been widely promoted online since the beginning of this year.

In January, a website that acts as a crypto news portal published an article entitled “Bitcoin Era Review: Real Scam or Bot? The results revealed! ”.

Obviously, the article praised the “trading robot” which promises to bring a new era of trading.

The author claims that he tested the tool, and his conclusion was that the Bitcoin Era is “a top-notch bitcoin trading booth of the year.” He misleads readers by saying that the program has been mentioned in several Facebook ads and has been associated with celebrities such as Richard Branson and Gordon Ramsay. However, he acknowledges that “there is no evidence that these celebrities have used this application.”

However, “we examined Bitcoin Era and established it to be legitimate,” says the author.

Last year, the consumer rights service Which? reported that this type of scam caused $ 260,000 in damages.
