Demonstrations to be held in Germany due to energy crisis

BERLIN, Sep 24 – PRIME. A number of organizations and trade unions in Germany are calling for demonstrations throughout the country on October 22 in light of the energy crisis, according to a statement on the website of the Verdi trade union.

Germany predicted hundreds of deaths and chaos during blackouts
It is reported that the association wants to hold demonstrations in a number of cities under the slogan “In solidarity through the crisis – to create social protection and stop fossil addiction.” An “increasingly loud protest” against the “unsatisfactory response” of the German government to the energy crisis is planned, the report said.
The group, which includes the Verdi trade union itself and the environmental organization BUND, among others, plans to release more details about the planned demonstrations in the coming weeks.
The organizers stressed that nationalistic, racist or conspiracy statements will be prohibited at the events.
