As the newspaper notes, the European Union is increasingly relying on the United States in the field of strategy and security, gradually turning into an “American vassal”. At the same time, Washington only “warmed its hands” on the energy crisis in the region. Thus, the cost of American natural gas is four times higher than the price of the resource in the European market, said French President Emmanuel Macron.

In addition, the United States has passed a number of bills that undermine free trade, the publication stressed. These acts are detrimental to Europe.

For example, the Chinese media pointed out, the head of the French Ministry of Finance, commenting on the law on the production of chips, criticized Washington’s economic despotism and called for a “more balanced” trade relationship with the European Union.

In addition, European Commission vice-president for economic affairs Valdis Dombrovskis said that the US “Inflation Reduction Act” discriminates against many German businesses, including the automotive industry and work in the field of renewable energy.
