Fix Samsung S7 Edge with a simple Hard Reset

Before taking your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to technical service, the hard reset it is a last solution that you can try. It is very easy to perform and in most cases it solves any cell phone problem, as long as there is no physical damage.

Doing a hard reset implies erase all device data and changes made by the user. Basically, restoring or returning the phone to the original or “factory” state.

This procedure can even fix a cell phone that does not turn on. In this case, it doesn’t just apply to the S7 Edge. It also serves to reset the Samsung S7 “Normal” and any Samsung Galaxy.

You just have to keep one thing in mind IMPORTANT: Doing a hard reset to the Galaxy S7 Edge will erase all the data on the device. If the state of your phone allows it, be careful to back up all the files that you do not want to lose.

How to Hard Reset the Galaxy S7 Edge (or normal Samsung S7)

1. Turn off your phone

1. Enter the System Settings.
2. In the search box at the top, enter the word Restore.
3. Tap on Reset to defaults.
4. Finally, at the bottom of the screen, touch the button Reset device.

Technically, a hard reset will not return the Samsung Galaxy S7 to the factory state as it is commonly talked about. It is the Android system that is reset. And this system may not be the same as the one the phone had from the factory, perhaps due to an update. In other words, a hard reset only returns the CURRENT Android system of the phone to the factory state.
