France called the idea of gas transit through Turkey senseless
PARIS, 13 Oct – PRIME. The redirection of the lost volume of gas transit through Nord Stream to the Turkish Stream “does not make sense,” Agence France-Presse reported on Thursday, citing the Elysee Palace.
“For us, the creation of new infrastructures that allow us to import more Russian gas does not make any sense,” the agency said.
As noted in the Elysee Palace, at a time when Europe seeks to reduce dependence on Russian fossil fuels, the creation of a “gas hub” in Turkey is pointless.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia could move the gas transit from Nord Stream, lost after the terrorist attacks on gas pipelines, to the Black Sea region and Turkey.
