Geforce Drivers 331.65 Beta with Shadowplay leaks online

One of the features of the new generation of game consoles is the ability to record video from game sessions and share them on the internet. On the PC front, this is nothing new, but the whole thing is usually more complicated than a few keystrokes. Nvidia wants to make the process painless with a new feature in the Geforce Experience software.

Now the driver is leaking Geforce Drivers 331.65 Beta online, where Nvidia’s recording function is apparently the main main ingredient. While applications such as FRAPS load the processor to capture the screen image in uncompressed video, Shadowplay can record directly to H.264 by utilizing the built-in video encoder in the Geforce GTX 600 and 700 series.

The idea is that the graphics processor should take care of the entire recording process with minimal impact on the gaming experience, which means that no monster system will be required to capture graphics-intensive games in high-definition video. Shadowplay can be configured with various quality settings and controlled with keyboard shortcuts, but can also continuously record the last minutes.

The leaked driver is spread on various file sharing sites and there are thus no guarantees that the installation files have not been tampered with. According to the promise, however, Nvidia will officially launch Shadowplay on October 28, ie later in the day.

[14:30] Update

Geforce Drivers 331.65 WHQL is now available to download from Nvidia’s website. It includes Shadowplay and is also recommended for Battlefield 4, Batman: Arkham Origins and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
