How to change your Slack password
Slack has a neat login method called a magic link. When you try to log into a Slack workspace, you can enter your email and receive a magic link to log into your inbox. When you click the link, you are automatically signed into your Slack account and associated workspaces. You do not need to enter a password.
Change your Slack password
Slack accounts are password protected, but a magic link means you rarely have to sign in. Most people log into their email accounts, and Slack uses the magic link method by default, which means it’s easier to use. That said, your password still works and you can change it whenever you want or need to.

conclusion
Magic links are great, and Slack doesn’t routinely log users out of their account on the desktop or mobile apps. In most cases, you will only need to log in once and rarely again. With that said, if you make any major changes to your Slack account, for example if you change the associated email, you will need to enter your password. Changes like this cannot be made with a magic link. Your Slack password is not workspace specific. It was linked to your email. When you change your password, it is changed for all workspaces associated with your email account.
