• Disable Chat for all contacts

• Disable Chat only for some contacts

Select the third option and later a box will appear where you must write the name of the person to whom you do not want the active status of Chat to appear and see you as offline.

On Android phone

It is important to know that, if you deactivate your active status, it will continue to appear as active on other sites where you are using Facebook or Messenger, although this can be resolved by deactivating the active status in those places as well. To do it from your android device you must follow these steps

• Touch menu with the 3 vertical stripes symbol
• Then scroll down, tap on Settings & Privacy, and then tap on Settings.
• Click on active status.
• Select next to Show when you are active to activate or deactivate the active state.

With iOS devices

• In Chats, tap your profile picture in the top left.
• Then click on Active status.
• Then press next to Show when you are active to enable or disable the option.

It is important to know that you can also Ignore Messages from a specific contact and this is done as follows: You select the contact that you do not want to see their messages, open your profile name and it will display a Chat configuration menu, then select Notifications and deactivate the Messages option. Finally, you select the option ‘Ignore Messages’ and select ignore.
