How to reset an iPhone 13 to factory settings – Easy Steps

How to reset an iPhone 13 to factory settings

If you plan to give away or sell your iPhone 13, you will first need to completely erase your data and account information. This is called a “factory reset” and is easy to do in the settings of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Here’s how to reset an iPhone 13.

Before restarting: make a backup

Whenever you do a factory reset, it is always a good idea to make sure you have a backup of your iPhone 13. To do this, you can use the Finder on a Mac, iTunes on Windows, or iCloud. You can also transfer data from your iPhone 13 directly to a new device using Quick Launch.

Make sure to turn off Find My iPhone too.

If you are handing over your iPhone 13 to a new owner, you will also need to disable “Find My iPhone,” which keeps track of your iPhone’s location in the event of theft or loss. To do this, open the Settings app and tap on your account name at the top. In Apple ID, go to Find me> Find my iPhone and toggle the switch next to “Find my iPhone” to “Off.”

How to erase all content and reset your iPhone 13

To erase everything on your iPhone 13 and perform a factory reset, first open the Settings app.

In Settings, select “General”.

Usually scroll down and select “Transfer or reset iPhone”.

In the forwarding or resetting settings, tap ‘Erase all content and settings’.

Warning : make sure you have a backup of your iPhone 13 before doing this. You are about to permanently delete all the data (photos, videos, emails, messages, applications, etc.) from your phone.

On the next screen, confirm by tapping «Continue». If necessary, enter your device password or Apple ID password. The reset process will begin and your device will erase itself. When complete, you will see a welcome screen that allows you to configure the device from scratch.
