What do you need before setting song as iPhone ringtone?

Before moving on to the guide on how to set iPhone ringtone, there are some prerequisites. How to create custom ringtone on iPhone (without computer)

For the purpose of this tutorial, I downloaded a ringtone from Zedge. You can use a website or source of your choice. Launch the app GarageBand on your iPhone. Scroll and find Audio recorder From the options, tap Voce (microphone icon). (You can also use keyboard or drummer for the purpose) Here, touch View (icon similar to a brick wall) to access the editing section. Tap the icon Loops; you will see three subtitles here: Apple Loops, Files and Music. Since my ringtone is saved in files, I’ll use that tab. Search for the song you want; hold it for a few seconds to import. If you can’t see the song, tap Browse items from the Files app to find it. To edit the song, drag the long vertical bar on the desired starting point for the custom ringtone. You can use the button of reproduction to get the perfect starting point of your ringtone.

When done, double-tap the song and select Divide. Drag thescissor icon down to cut / divide the song at the chosen point. Delete the unusable part of the song by double tapping it and then choosing Remove. Now, select the icon of down arrow in the top left corner and tap My songs. Touch and hold the project and select Share from the list. Here, select Ringtone, so continuesname the song according to your choice and tap Export. Once the process is complete, tap Use sound like … To set it directly as a ringtone or OK to do it manually. When exporting, iPhone automatically cuts the ringtone to 30 seconds.

How to set song as iPhone ringtone via iTunes

Download and install iTunes and go to Bookshelf. Choose the song you want to set as your iPhone ringtone. Keep in mind that iPhone ringtones run in 30 second loops, so don’t worry about choosing a long song as it will get cut anyway. Right-click on the song, select Song Info and go to the Options tab. Change the start and end times of the song where, if you wish, you can choose your favorite part of the song to use as a ringtone. Do clic are OK at the end. Go to File> Convert> Create AAC Version. Drag the AAC version of the song to the desktop for easy access

Fai right click on the file and change its extension to “.m4rWhich will make it recognizable as an iPhone ringtone.
