In Zaporizhzhia region called to connect ZNPP to the Russian energy system

SIMFEROPOL, 9 Oct – PRIME. The Zaporizhia NPP should be connected to the Russian energy system, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the movement “We are with Russia”, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, told RIA Novosti.

“Zaporozhye region is an integral part of the Russian Federation, so the Zaporizhzhya NPP, as an asset of Russia, should be connected to the Russian energy system,” he said.

On the eve it was reported that Ukrainian armed formations damaged the last power line connecting the Zaporizhzhya NPP with the energy system of Ukraine. The station switched to automatic operation of diesel generators.

Rogov said that the ZNPP power units will be launched after the restoration of power lines, which were previously damaged as a result of shelling by the armed formations of Ukraine.

He also added that the constant shelling of the local thermal power plant by Ukrainian troops complicates the launch of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

“The Kyiv authorities are doing everything possible to deprive Energodar with its 50,000-strong population of electricity, hot water and heating,” Rogov explained.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered by his decree to transfer the Zaporizhzhya NPP under the control of Russia.
