Mozilla releases Firefox 82 with new protection against automatic downloads of malicious files

Also, the creators of “Fire Fox” have made some changes to the interface. Now, instead of the old ugly and inconvenient picture-in-picture button installed to the side of the video, a new large icon will appear inside the player window. When you hover over it with the mouse, a tooltip will tell you exactly how this function works. In addition, Firefox users on MacOS will be able to activate Picture-in-Picture mode with the Option + Command + Shift hotkeys. The other most significant improvements in the new release are in one way or another related to increasing the speed of the browser. According to the developers, thanks to the changes in the code, they were able to increase the speed of session recovery by 17%, to increase the speed of opening new windows by 10% and to improve the processing speed of websites laid out using Flexbox technology by 20%.

Another good news for Mozilla Firefox 82 users will be the protection installed by the developers against automatic downloads from isolated iFrame elements with the sandbox attribute. As you know, iFrames are used on many Internet sites to load additional content on pages, for example, annoying advertisements or multimedia content from third-party web resources.
