MSI launches compact Mini ITX graphics cards in the Aero series

Graphics cards of the smaller kind are a popular phenomenon among enthusiasts, and over the past year, several manufacturers have launched their own versions of models from Nvidia’s latest Pascal family. One of these is Zotac, which has released shrunken versions of the Geforce GTX 1060, GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 and is now launching MSI’s new Aero series with a total of four models.

The Geforce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti models both measure in at 155 mm in length, but differ in performance. One difference is the amount of memory, where the former has 2 GB of GDDR5 and clock speeds of 1,404 MHz and 1,518 MHz at base respective boost. The other has 4 GB of GDDR5 and a slightly lower clock frequency of 1,341 and 1,445 MHz, respectively, something that is offset by several CUDA cores.

More powerful Geforce GTX 1060 has 6 GB GDDR5 and the company’s Torx fan, which also means semi-passive cooling. Clock frequencies are 1506 MHz in base mode and 1708 MHz in turbo mode. The model is also available in a factory overclocked variant, where they are screwed up to 1,544 and 1,759 MHz respectively. The model measures in at 175 mm.

The Geforce GTX 1070 model also comes in two versions and is semi-passive. For the overclocked, the clock frequencies are 1,531 MHz in base and 1,721 MHz in turbo mode. The same figures for the card in the standard version are 1,506 and 1,683 MHz respectively. The card is equipped with 8 GB GDDR5 and measures in at 184 mm.

MSI’s new Aero series will be launched shortly and is expected to be available towards the end of February. Some price information is not yet known.
