Nvidia Geforce GTX 2060 performance test in 3DMark – performs in class with GTX 1080

New graphics cards from Nvidia are something many enthusiasts have been waiting for for a long time. The company has not released a new architecture in over two years, but recently took the magazine by the mouth and unveiled the sequel to Pascal who will be Turing. There are now many indications that a launch of cards for ordinary consumers is expected soon.

As is often the case with new graphics card launches, performance tests for one of the new models are now available on the web. This is what is called the Geforce GTX 2060, which if the name is correct means that it would go from the prefix RTX used for the top models Geforce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti.

What has been found on the web are performance figures from the test software 3DMark, where the Geforce GTX 2060 gets 22,555 graphics points. This can be compared to the Geforce GTX 1080, which gets about 22,000 points in the same test. Specifications for the model are not revealed, but it is referred to as “Geforce GTX 2060 5 GB” where the latter refers to the amount of graphics memory.

It is worth mentioning that it has not been confirmed that this is a Geforce GTX 2060, but it may be a manipulated result. The model is believed to be unveiled in connection with the others, but only Geforce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti are expected to be available for purchase.

The unveiling of the Geforce RTX 2000 series is expected to take place during Nvidia’s event on August 20. The event starts at 18:00 Swedish time and will be broadcast live via Nvidia’s website.
