Polish state institutions will be obliged to reduce electricity consumption from October 1

MOSCOW, 15 Sep — PRIME. In Poland, state institutions and local governments will be required to reduce electricity consumption by 10 percent from October 1, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said.

“The state administration, as well as the administration of self-government bodies, will be required to reduce electricity consumption by 10% in the near future,” the head of the Polish government said, adding that the requirement would be mandatory from October 1.

According to Morawiecki, the authorities will freeze the price of electricity for citizens who use it per year up to two thousand kilowatt-hours. For certain categories, for example, families with many children, this limit will be increased to 2.6 thousand kilowatt-hours. Citizens who reduce their electricity consumption by ten percent will receive an additional discount.
