Reddit deploys two "reward" tokens on Ethereum

The famous forum Reddit is currently experimenting with a new system of " community points »Built on blockchain Ethereum.

Teased last month, the new mode of community governance based on blockchain of Reddit has now entered beta version.

Two digital pieces, one named $ MOONS and the other $ BRICKS, are issued to members of cryptocurrency subreddits and FortniteBR to reward their contributions (quality comments and publications), reports TheBlock.

The " Community Points »Are managed by a series of smart contracts, reviewed and audited by Trail of Bits, which manages balances, distribution / complaints and subscription payments.

Since most Redditors don't haveEther, Reddit will cover "for the moment" their gas cost (fees on the Ethereum network).

The co-founder of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian, has never made a secret of his interest in blockchain, and in particular Ethereum.

In 2019, he invested in Horizon Blockchain Games, a Canadian startup that is developing an online trading card game on Ethereum.
