In this review, we’ll take a look at a graphics card for laptops. AMD Radeon R5 M430, which can be safely attributed to the entry-level mobile video adapters, so the performance of the Radeon R5 M430 in computer games leaves much to be desired. The new video adapter for laptops can only compete with GeForce 920m or integrated video cards such as Intel HD Graphics 620, Intel HD Graphics 530. As in the case of the more powerful Radeon R7 M460, AMD Radeon R5 M430 has undergone a rebranding, as a result, we are dealing with a video card of the previous generation AMD Radeon R5 M330, that is, we will not get any new architecture changes, even the path frequencies for both video cards are identical, the only thing that has undergone a change is the optimization of the graphics core, due to which the new graphics card and received a slight performance boost.
The M400 series uses two graphics cores that are currently marketed under the Radeon M300 brand, Topaz XT and Bonaire XT. Radeon R5 M430 unlike the older R7 M460 (Topaz XT), it is based on the Sun XT architecture. The Radeon R5 M430 video card, like its predecessor, has support for DirectX 12, Vulkan and FreeSync. The graphics core of the novelty operates at a relatively low clock frequency of 1030 MHz, using a 64-bit DDR3 memory interface. AMD Radeon R5 M430 includes 320 shader units, 20 TMUs, 8 ROPs and 5 Compute Units.
It will be possible to play on a laptop with this video card only if the display resolution is set to 1024 x 768 pixels or 1280×720, and the graphics quality will have to be downgraded to Low (low settings). As for high-tech resource-intensive games such as The Witcher 3, Deus Ex Mankind Divided or Rise of the Tomb Raider, the R5 M430 simply won’t master them even at the lowest graphics settings. The FPS level in such games will be at the level of 10-20 cd. per second. In old games of 2013-2015 and less gluttonous such as, for example, BioShock Infinite, Battlefield 4 and Rainbow Six Siege, the video card produces more than 40 FPS.

The performance of a video card is determined by the number of fps (frames per second) that it can produce in a particular application under certain settings. The performance of the video card in gaming applications is affected by the software installed on the PC, the version of the video driver, and the configuration of the computer.
