Romania supported the plan of Hungary and Bulgaria for the joint delivery of gas

CHISINAU, 1 Oct – PRIME. The Romanian company Transgaz has joined the initiative of Hungarian, Bulgarian and Slovak natural gas transportation companies to deliver it through integrated gas pipelines, a corresponding statement was published on the company’s website on Saturday.

“Natural gas operators in Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia are proposing a plan to transport natural gas through integrated gas transmission networks. Transgaz joins the Bulgartransgaz initiative, FGSZ and Eustream propose joint actions to enhance cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan by transporting additional natural gas through their networks,” the Romanian company said.

Transgaz specified that according to the initiative, up to 5 billion m3 of gas can be delivered annually from Turkey and Greece through Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia to Eastern, Central and Western Europe.

“This project can be implemented in the shortest possible time and at minimal cost, significantly contributing to the supply of the European gas market,” the report says.

Transgaz also noted that gas transmission operators will continue to work in accordance with the framework established by the strategic cooperation agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan, signed on July 18, 2022.
